Episode 25- A Spontaneous Two Day September Trip With Mark Lucas

The Disney Hack – Tricks and Tips for your Walt Disney World Trips! (An Unofficial Disney Podcast)

This week: A Spontaneous Two-Day September Trip Report, with Mark Lucas (@KingOfWDW)

You probably remember Mark from Episodes 14, 18, 21 and 23. He’s a professional Disney fan who knows how to manage his time, money and resources while visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth. I enjoy having Mark on to share his knowledge about traveling, eating and taking pictures and this episode is PACKED with more of his amazing insights. I always learn something new when I talk with him, and I’m sure you will too!

Today we talk about…Why Mark chose to head down in early September. What impact Irma had on his trip. The Food and Wine Festival and what tracking apps to use. The All-Star Resorts. Viewing fireworks from The Polynesian Resort. Taking LOTS of pictures. Why you should take a spontaneous solo-trip to Walt Disney World.

Did you know that the Animal Kingdom lodge is closer to most of the parks than the Wilderness Lodge?

I hope you enjoy the conversation.

Episode 24- Disneyland Hack Attack with the Theme Park Duo

The Disney Hack – Tricks and Tips for your Disneyland Trips! (An Unofficial Disney Podcast)

This week: Talking Disneyland Hack Attack’s with the hosts of the Theme Park Duo Podcast

The Theme Park Duo is a Husband and Wife team, Nikki & Gabriel Montoya that absolutely love Theme Parks, Amusement Parks, Haunts, Dark Rides, Roller Coaster and many more things in the Theme Park world. They have a fun podcast called, “The Theme Park Duo Podcast,” where they talk about a myriad of topics and news of the Theme Park world (Shocking, I know).

Well, today they are sharing their absolute best Disneyland hacks! From what to do, when to do it, and how to do it best, these two know and they’re not holding back. They’re like a full-blown spigot of Disney parks knowledge, pouring it all out for our benefit.

I hope you enjoy the conversation.

I first learned about Gabe and Nikki when our mutual friend Rich Stork would share how helpful Gabe is with helping him optimize his own podcast, One Little Spark. Later, Rich and I learned that Gabe and Nikki were going to be at the D23 Parks & Resorts presentation and would be streaming the experience via their Periscope account. Naturally, Rich and I were watching the whole thing and enjoyed the presentation and The Duo’s commentary about green balloons.

Check out the 2017 D23 Parks & Resorts Presentation as seen from The Theme Park Duo’s Periscope:

Episode 23 – Special Report: Hurricane Irma at WDW

The Disney Hack – Tricks and Tips for your Walt Disney World Trips! (An Unofficial Disney Podcast)

This week: Hurricane Irma’s impact on Walt Disney World and what it can mean to current, arriving and departing guests.

Joining me this week are four Disney regulars who know a thing or two about traveling during extreme inclement weather.

Peter and Holly Bercase  are Florida residents. Holly is a native Floridian with memories from riding out several past hurricanes, including the infamous Hurricane Charley from 2004. Her Husband, Peter has some specific recent memories from last years Hurricane Matthew, which also closed down Walt Disney World for a day last October.

Also joining us is Full-Time Disney Fan and member of the Hack Pack, Mark Lucas. Mark shares how he has been keeping a close eye on Irma, as he is planning a quick trip down to Walt Disney World this week and wants to make sure he’ll be able to see everything he wants and still catch his flight back home.

Last, but not least is professional travel agent,  Jennifer Galambos. Jennifer was at Walt Disney World last year when Hurricane Matthew made landfall and was forced to take shelter at her resort.

The panel is FULL of great tips, tricks and hacks for what to do before, during and after a hurricane intrudes on your WDW vacation. If there’s any great tips you can think of that we miss, please let us know on social media or in the comments below.

I hope you enjoy the conversation.

Sub note: We do not actually encourage traveling during a hurricane. We take these extreme weather conditions very seriously and we expect you to do so as well.

Episode 22 – Front, Back, Left, Right or Middle?

The Disney Hack – Tricks and Tips for your Walt Disney World Trips! (An Unofficial Disney Podcast)

This week: Where to sit on EVERY WDW Attraction, with Rich Stork from the One Little Spark podcast!

Where’s the best seat? Where do you sit? On Episode 22, my good friend Rich and I have an in depth conversation about where, AND WHY, we sit where we do when we ride rides and watch shows and the Most Magical Place on Earth!

You may remember Rich from Episode 6 where he shared his impressions de Wishes (and Happily Ever After, too), and Episode Episode 10 when he shared his personal experience at Pandora’s AP Preview. He’s a member of the Hack Pack and he’s always got something good to share.

Well, today we are talking about where the best seat would be on every attraction, ride and show. As it turns out, there’s sometime more than one best seat, depending on your size or preference. We took a little time to talk about some of our favorites.

It’s possible that you may disagree with us on a few of our favorites, and we’re totally open to hearing your thoughts. Please connect with us on your favorite social media channel to talk about it…We’d love to know what you think is best!

I really hope you enjoy our conversation!

Episode 17 – Hacking Disneyland With Young Kids with Go Mouse Scouts founders Megan and Kris Sheppard

The Disney Hack – Tricks and Tips for your DisneylandTrips! (An Unofficial Disney Podcast)

This week: Hacking Disneyland With Go Mouse Scouts founders and authors of the 2017 Guide to Visiting Disneyland With Young Kids (and still having a great time!), Megan and Kris Sheppard.

I first met Kris Sheppard on Facebook after I became a regular podcaster in the Disney podcasting community. Of course, I knew who they were long before they ever knew about me. I had been listening to the Go Mouse Scouts Podcast for quite some time and today I am honored to consider these two my friends.

This discussion is one of the reasons I started The Disney Hack. The ability to connect with and learn from Super Fans about how they manage to maximize the MAGIC and FUN while saving the most TIME and MONEY while on a Disney parks trip with kids. Kris and Megan are MASTERS at this as they have been going to Disneyland for years and often talk about their trips often on their show.

I have learned a lot from them and I asked them to share their best hacks when planning a trip to the happiest place on earth. They even shared some of their best tips from their new book: 2017 Guide to Visiting Disneyland With Young Kids (and still having a great time!)
